Write A Will
What is a will?
A will is a legal document. It enables you to distribute your assets to your designated beneficiaries upon death. Your assets will be distributed according to your wishes without hassle from any family dispute. It also ensures the minor is being taken care of by appointing a guardian to look after them. Apart from these obvious advantages, a will can save the expense and possible squabbles that may arise when a person dies without a will.
What happen if someone dies without a will?
If someone dies without a will, his assets will be distributed according to the law of intestacy. If parents still alive, they will entitle for quarter share, wife quarter share and half of the share to the children. Problem may arise if the parents die subsequently, their portion will be shared among the siblings, hence creating complication with multiple ownership for a single asset.
On top of that, if someone dies without a will, all of his assets will be frozen, in order to unfreeze his assets, he needs to get the letter of administration from high court, the process could be costly and time consuming.
Therefore it is advisable to have a will to prepare for smooth distribution of assets in the future.
